February 2011 Snow Daze

So it is February in New Hampshire. We are on the downside of winter. But winter is still here. Yesterday we had what they call a snow event. It began showing Tuesday night and just ending this morning (Thursday, Feb 3, 2011). Tuesday morning on the commute to work, this was just down the street from us. We were not part of this. We were inside.

So after moving 18"-24" of snow....took five times out there with shovels and the snow thrower, we cleared at all. We had to uncover the generator house. This is a picture of Dianna standing behind the turtle condo and in from of the generator house. The house is there under all the snow.

Here are a few pictures of the back yard.  You can tell the amount of snow we received by looking at the snow (1) popup trailer, (2) table out by the pool deck...the snow is as high as the table, (3) kayak on the fence.

This is another good picture of the garden shed and the path to the compost bin.  It is also Molly the dog's pooping path.

One last one....This is the driveway.  The snow thrower has added snow upon snow until it cannot throw the snow any higher.  It is nearly as high as the van.

We have a break for a few days....and then more snow on Saturday night.  One note.  The satellite dish for DirectTV that is on the roof had so much snow around it that we didn't have our cable TV last night!!!  Good news.  Dish was uncovered (by wind, I guess) as we have cable just in time for the OSU v Michigan b-ball game tonight
